Reports: Mahlambi Left Out Of Ahly’s CL Squad
Phakamani Mahlambi Isn't In Al Ahly's CAF Champions League Squad
According to reports in Egypt, South African attacker, Phakamani Mahlambi, has not been named in Al Ahly’s 22-man squad for this year’s CAF Champions League.
The 20-year-old hasn’t has played seven games for the Egyptian giants since making a big-money move from Bidvest Wits, grabbing two assists and losing just one of the matches that he’s been involved in.
However, with Mahlambi yet to get a full 90 minutes under his belt in a competitive game, his coach - Hossam El-Badry, has seen fit to exclude him from the squad for the tournament alongside the likes of Saleh Gomaa, Rami Rabia and Ahmed Adel.
It remains to be seen whether Mahlambi will be added to the squad at a later date as the competition progresses, but it will no doubt be a disappointment for him to have been left out at this stage.
The youngster got his first trophy of the season last week as Ahly lifted the Egyptian Super Cup, and will be hoping for more silverware to come as his time there goes on.
