Percy Tau experienced a spectacular introduction in the UEFA Champions League last night coming up against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 25-year-old Club Brugge playmaker grabbed himself an assist in his side’s 2-2 draw against Madrid in the group stages of the Champions League competition.
While he is currently living out his dreams in Europe, Tau spoke to UEFA TV about what it means to play in the UEFA Champions League, the type of South African culture he can bring to the club and what he thinks about his nickname ‘Lion of Judah’.
“For me it’s a dream come true and a privilege and honour to be in the Champions League with Club Brugge, I’m just grateful for the moment,” he said.
“I think the dancing, the music and being a boy from South Africa here trying to work for a team and to try and win. But I think the dancing and the music brings that (the South African culture).
“I think it’s a cool one I think it’s okay. People gave it to me and I just go with it. It’s what a lot of South Africans and people choose to call me,” he added.
