Bafana Bafana attacker Percy Tau could well be on the move again with the attacker said to closing in on a sensational R66 million move.
According to Belgian publication Voetbalkrant Belgian Pro League runners-up Royal Antwerp are looking to bring the 27-year-old back to Belgium where he proved to be a success with both Club Brugge and Anderlecht.
It is not the first time that Antwerp are looking to bring the Lion of Judah on board – the publication revealed that they tried to lure him from Brighton last season, but they were put off by the Seagulls’ €6m (±R99m) evaluation of the player.
However, Brighton are believed to have lowered that price to €4m (±R66m) something that Antwerp are more than willing to meet.
Despite, the club’s owner confirming that Tau could get his chance, and the player reiterating his desire to succeed in coach Graham Potter’s squad next season, it appears that Brighton have made a U-turn and are looking to cash in on Tau – out of fear of losing him on a free next season, with his contract ending in June 2022.
Tau, who is a notable absentee from the latest Bafana Bafana squad due to COVID-19, was signed by Brighton from Mamelodi Sundowns back in 2018, although work permit regulations in the UK meant he only received his chance at the club in January this year.
In his six months with the Premier League side, Tau managed six appearances, while registering a solitary assist.
