Percy Tau picked up an individual award in his debut European season, and now – in his second – he’s just one game away from lifting his first title…
Tau’s Club Brugge booked their spot in the final of the Croky Cup last week with a 3-2 aggregate victory of Zulte-Waragem as they look to win the Belgian Cup for the first time since 2015, although the Bafana Bafana star was an unused substitute in the second leg.
The victory booked them a spot in the final of the tournament on March 22 in Brussels, and it was later confirmed that they would be taking on Royal Antwerp for the trophy after they knocked out Darren Keet’s former club, KV Kortrijk.
Bafana’s attacker played his role in helping Club reach the final two after scoring his first goal in the tournament last year in the win over Francs Borain, and he’ll be eager to force his way into Philippe Clement’s starting XI plans over the coming month or so before the game at Stade Roi Baudouin.
The 25-year-old won a whole host of trophies during his time with Mamelodi Sundowns – most notably the CAF Champions League – but will be hoping to lift another trophy after moving into the European football scene, almost two years after his last win (the Absa Premiership in May 2018).
Do you think Club can win the Croky Cup this year?
