Dutch side PEC Zwolle have announced to come for a training camp to South Africa. Zwolle will reside in Stellenbosch at the Stellenbosch Academy of Sport (SAS) between January 4-13.
The Dutch Eredivise club are coming with their full squad – including South African Kamohelo Mokotjo – to prepare for the second half their domestic season.
“The training camp in South Africa is part of the cooperation that PEC Zwolle has with the Stellenbosch University,” reads an official announcement on Zwolle’s website.
The South African has impressed since joining Zwolle from Feyenoord in summer 2013 and assisted in Bernhard Parker's goal in Bafana's 1-0 heroic victory over the World Champions in only his second appearance for the national team.
PEC Zwolle and Mokotjo had a great start into their season, winning the first four games with the South African scoring twice. However, they have slipped down to 10th position in the Eredivisie, winning only one of their last 13 league games.
The South African midfielder featured in all 17 of Zwolle’s league games this season and was only subbed off once. Zwolle is also still in the Dutch KNVB Cup and will be looking to regain their strength in South Africa.
According to Zwolle’s statement, the Dutch club and Stellenbosch University are also in the process of establishing a football academy around the Maties Football Club.
