LaLiga Switch On The Cards For SA Starlet?
Four clubs are believed to have shown an interest in rising South African youngster, Mihlali Mayambela, with a club in Spain’s LaLiga said to be monitoring his progress in Portugal.
Mayambela has been almost ever-present for Farense in the Portuguese Segunda Liga so far this season, since his switch from Sweden - playing 13 of their 14 games – and has two assists and a goal to his name as his side look to climb up the table.
The 22-year-old attacker, the younger brother of Chippa United’s Mark Mayambela, seems to have been catching the eye over the course of the season, and the Siya crew have been informed that a couple of clubs from Portugal’s top-flight are starting to take notice.
Siya sources have revealed that both Boavista and Rio Ave are keeping tabs on the former Djurgardens IF man, while over in Spain it is thought that Tenerife – who play in the Segunda División – are maintaining their long-term interest.
More exciting, though, are the reports that LaLiga’s Alaves, a team that currently sits in fifth place, have identified Mayambela as a potential future target, though he would need to keep up his current level of performances for any sort of move to happen in the future.
For now, the young forward will be focused on pushing hard to increase his goalscoring and creating stats for the second half of 2018/19 in order to impress any potential suitors ahead of next season.
