Chiefs Target Speaks After Romanian Move
May Mahlangu, who turned down Kaizer Chiefs in June, has spoken about his new life in Europe after signing for Romanian giants, Dinamo București.
The 27-year-old had been clubless for many several months since leaving Sint-Truidense in July, and after turning down moves to both Dynamo Dresden and Randers, there was speculation about where he would end up.
Having rejected the Amakhosi due to his intentions of staying in Europe at this stage in his career, Mahlangu is now waiting to make his debut in Bucharest as he looks to get fit following his lack of preseason preparations.
The Bafana Bafana international says that he has spoken intensively with his former Konyaspor teammate, Gabriel Torje, about his new club, with the Romanian helping him settle in his new surroundings.
Speaking at his unveiling, the midfield man said, "I was received very well in the team. I spoke with (Gabriel) Torje, and he told me many things about the club and I'm glad to have come to a team that has the ambition to win. I will not take long to get ready, and I’ll work hard to get to be part of the team.”
Mahlangu is yet to feature for Dinamo, but with clashes against Viitorul and Concordia Chiajna on the horizon, he will be hoping to get himself into Ioan Andone’s side sooner rather than later.
