Bafana Starlet Rewarded With New Euro Contract
Talented young South African attacker, Luther Singh, is believed to have been handed a new contract with Sporting Braga in Portugal, a reward for his impressive form this season.
The 20-year-old Stars of Africa graduate has continually impressed in Europe since his move to GAIS in Sweden, scoring 22 goals since August 2015 for both GAIS and Braga B in the Portuguese Segunda Liga.
Now, as his side’s top scorer in the second division, the forward – who received his first Bafana Bafana call-up last year – there have been suggestions that he could be promoted into the senior team for the 2018/19 campaign.
Singh signed a one-and-a-half-year deal with Braga when he joined them in January 2017, meaning that his current deal is due to expire at the end of the current season, however, the Siya crew have been informed that there is a new long-term deal on the table.
It is thought that Singh, who is seen as one of Mzansi’s brightest young stars, has agreed an extension in Portugal that will run until 2021, although there has been no official confirmation of that at this point in time.
The South African has scored 10 goals in the Segunda Liga for Braga B this season – playing 31 league games – and will be eager to finish 2017/18 on a high as his side look to beat the drop and secure their status in the division.
