Lille To Come Calling For Mothiba?

Lille Could Look To Try And Get Lebo Mothiba Back

By Joe Crann - Dec 19, 2017 10:19 AM @YesWeCrann
French Ligue 1 outfit, Lille OSC, could look to call back their on-loan forward, Lebo Mothiba, after being slapped with a transfer ban by the French League.

Mothiba is currently with Ligue 2 outfit, Valenciennes, after impressing during his spell there last season, and currently has nine goals to his name in all competitions as he continues to shine in the French second tier.

At 21, the South African was recently named as one of the hottest young prospects in Ligue 2, and his exploits for Valenciennes have not gone unnoticed by his parent club.

Lille were recently given an indefinite transfer ban by the LFP, meaning that the relegation battlers will not be able to strengthen in January, and according to Siya sources, there is a chance that they could look to bring Mothiba back to try and bolster their attack.

Mothiba has scored almost as many league goals (8) as Lille’s entire strikeforce combined (9) so far, and the Siya crew is led to believe that there is a chance of them recalling him, although Valenciennes would no doubt be against the move.

Mamelodi Sundowns holding midfielder Tiyani Mabunda says he is in no rush to extend his contract at the club. With his deal set to expire at the end of the season, Mabunda is yet to commit to a new deal with the Brazilians. Coach Pitso Mosimane has made no secret of his intension to retain the Bafana Bafana international. Mabunda insists it's not up to him, saying: "I do not make a decision out of emotion and feelings because God will guide me. As you know, I am a very spiritual person." Sundowns continued to cruise in the league after winning six of their last seven matches, the other being a draw. With the Premiership race at the halfway point, the Brazilians are in pole position, having accumulated 28 points from 13 games. Mabunda feels the unsung hero in the team's seven-game unbeaten run has been Oupa Manyisa. "There is a person that people do not notice who is doing very good for us, and that is Oupa," he said. "If you look at his game carefully you will see that he plays a big role by winning the ball for us and making us tick. "Oupa is a special player. It takes a quality player to understand the system that we have and contribute to our collective effort."
