SA Star Makes Danish Team Of The Week

In-form South African midfielder, Lebogang Phiri, was named in the Team of the Week in Denmark’s leading football publication after his performance this weekend.
The 21-year-old put in a fine display as Brondby romped to a 4-0 win over SønderjyskE, taking them up to second place and continuing their unbeaten start to the 2016/17 season.
Phiri, who had a big hand in creating the opening goal, put on a stellar showing for his club, receiving plaudits from fans and pundits alike for his performance in the victory.
Tipsbladet, the oldest football magazine the country, named the former Bidvest Wits man in their esteemed Team of the Week for the first time, describing him as ‘the little man with the big talent’.
Phiri has been a target for other clubs in Europe following his performances in the last couple of seasons, however, Brondby showed their reluctance to let him leave when they rejected an offer from Rapid Vienna last month.
