Recent Bafana Bafana call-up, Lebogang Phiri, has signed for a French Ligue 1 outfit.
Phiri, who is a free agent after leaving Brondby in Denmark, signed a four-year contract with EA Guingamp following his exit from his previous club.
The 22-year-old has been in Europe since he joined Brondby on loan from Bidvest Wits, becoming a mainstay for the Danish giants as he gained experience in both domestic and continental competitions as he matured as a footballer.
Having said goodbye to the Brondby faithful over the weekend, Phiri wasted no time in getting his future sorted, flying into France on Tuesday morning to undergo his medical and put pen to paper on a contract.
Phiri will now focus on Bafana's trip to Nigeria following his call up to replace Kamohelo Mokotjo, and will be happy to have made sure that he will have a full preseason under his belt in France now that he has finalised his move.
Guingamp finished 10th in Ligue 1 last year, and have players such as Didier Drogba, Laurent Koscielny and Florent Malouda on their list of notable former players.
