Lebogang Phiri will be donning different colours when the 2017/18 season gets underway, but he leaves Brondby with a heavy heart after some good years there.
The 22-year-old has left a lasting mark at the club since his debut as a teenager back in 2013, writing himself into their history as he scored the goal that kept them up in his first season.
Now, as he ponders the next step in his career, Phiri has wished them well and bid goodbye to their loyal supporters following the last game of the season on the weekend.
Despite head coach, Alexander Zorniger, being aware of the fact that he was probably on his way out, only one Brondby player played more league games than Phiri (34) over the course of the season, and his commitment to the team was never questioned.
At this point it remains to be seen where the midfield man will be playing his football in the next campaign, however he will shortly be jetting into South Africa after being called up as Kamohelo Mokotjo’s replacement in the Bafana Bafana squad.
Phiri left a heartfelt message to the Brondby fans in an Instagram post that you can see below.
