Manyama Given 10, Agent Explains Move

Lebogang Manyama Has Been Given The Number 10 At Konyaspor

Lebogang Manyama will be donning the number 10 jersey for Konyaspor this season, and Mario Atakliyan, the man who made it happen, has had his say on the move.

The Siya crew reported earlier this week that the 26-year-old was on the verge of finalising his move to the Turkish club, and he jetted out of the country on Wednesday evening to undergo his medical and complete his transfer.

Konyaspor are believed to have paid in the region of R10m to Cape Town City for the signature of the reigning Absa Premiership Player of the Year, and it’s fitting that he will be wearing that number on his back in his first campaign in Europe.

Speaking to the crew today after the player was unveiled, Atakliyan said, “Manyama has completed his medical and the deal has been finalised. It has just been announced and we are very excited. The media, with all the TV stations, attended his unveiling.

“He is very excited and very happy, I can’t explain his emotions. He is very eager to start playing.”

When asked how the move came about for the attacker, Atakliyan said, “I started following Manayama closely when Coach Muhsin Ertugral made me aware of his ability. I have been monitoring him closely ever since, and it was clear that he could play in overseas.

“I spoke to my network in Turkey and here we are, we have signed in Turkey.”

Konyaspor face Alanyaspor on Saturday, however it remains to be seen whether the Bafana Bafana international will be able to feature or not.

The deal will reach the region of R17 m with the perofrmance bonuses. If he performs to the expected standard then CTC will receive round about R 2 m per season.

@MALOSE it's not like they were scared, what's the reason of leaving a club that's paying you R450k per month in your country only to run to a team that gonna pay u the same R450k per month only for tax to take 35% of your pay plus still trying to adjust to foreign weather, lifestyle, language and so forth.

At least he gets to leave his dream now unlike most players who were scared to take bold decisions .
