The Conditions Of Mothiba’s Lille Return

Lebo Mothiba Could Leave Valenciennes To Return To Lille

By Soccer Laduma - Jan 13, 2018 10:00 AM
Lille OSC’s attempts to bring Lebo Mothiba back to the club by recalling him from his loan at Valenciennes may have hit a sticking point.

The Siya crew recently reported that the 21-year-old could be heading back to his struggling parent club following his fine form in Ligue 2 this season, although Valenciennes were always going to be reticent to let their top scorer leave.

Now, the latest news reaching the crew is that negotiations between the two clubs are still ongoing, but that Valenciennes are only prepared to let Mothiba return if they can find a suitable replacement for him in the January transfer window.

Mothiba has eight Ligue 2 goals to his name this season, while Lille have only 17 in Ligue 1 and are currently sat in 18th place after 19 matches.

Valenciennes faced Châteauroux last night, take on Clermont on Tuesday, and have just over two weeks to try and find a replacement for Mothiba that will allow the Bafana Bafana international to venture back into the top flight.
