Which SA Starlet Could Erasmus Debut Against In Sweden?
Kermit Erasmus Could Face A Compatriot On His Swedish Debut
Kermit Erasmus could make his debut for AFC Eskilstuna against a South African compatriot who also recently made a move to the Superettan.
It was confirmed earlier this week that the 27-year-old had completed a move to Eskilstuna after leaving Stade Rennais in France, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Swedish club.
Erasmus was a free agent following his French exit but was limited in terms of his next move due to the fact that he was released outside a transfer window, and could therefore only join a club whose window was still open.
Now, with Eskilstuna working overtime to get Erasmus registered in time to face IK Brage, a certain Mihlali Mayambela will be watching with interest as he also looks to make his competitive debut for his new club. The 21-year-old joined Brage on loan from Djurgårdens IF.
The Siya crew spoke to the club’s CEO, Azad Budak, who explained that they’re hopeful that Erasmus will be at the disposal of head coach, Nemanja Miljanovic, for Saturday’s clash.
Budak said, "We see a lot of talent in Kermit, and think he will help the team. We are working hard to get him ready as soon as possible, and I have hope that he will be ok for Saturday."
Eskilstuna are targeting an immediate return to the Allsvenskan following their relegation in their last campaign.
