The 26-year-old midfield man has been picking up rave reviews in Holland over the past four seasons, putting in sterling performances for both PEC Zwolle and FC Twente following his move away from Feyenoord.
Playing in England has always been a dream for the Bafana Bafana midfielder, and acquiring a Dutch passport this year made sure that he got rid of the work permit issues that halted a move in the past.
Now, as he begins preseason in France with ‘The Bees’, Mokotjo says that he’s excited to get his teeth stuck into the English game.
He told the club’s official website, “It’s good to finally be here… It has been a long time coming but I am happy to be here.
"I have waited because it always felt good with Brentford. Everyone believes in me here and it is a good step for me to challenge myself. I have had chats with the coach and the directors of football and this is a club with ambition that wants to grow.
"I am not one to take the easy way out and I went with my gut. I know that this was the right decision for me. I needed to make the next step in my career and I believe that Brentford will help me to develop into a better player.”
“The intensity of football is different here and I am looking forward to experiencing all the different things that English football has to offer.”
