Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Hendrick ‘Pule’ Ekstein scored two goals to mark a flying start for his new club this past weekend.
After parting ways with Amakhosi in April, following failed contract talks with the Naturena club, the 28-year-old Bekkersdal-born player went on to sign with Azerbaijani Premier League side Sabah Football Club.
The midfield ace is on a two-year deal with the Azerbaijani outfit as he looks to further his career overseas. In preparation for the new season with Sabah, the attacking midfielder introduced himself to the club and its fans by scoring two goals in their friendly match against Zire FC on Saturday.
Zire is the Azerbaijani club that signed former Baroka FC midfielder Robin Ngalande in 2018, as well as winger Mpho Kgaswane last year.
Ekstein’s two goals helped Sabah to beat Zire 5-3 in their competitive friendly match.
