Serero’s ‘Negotiation Process’ Sees Him Benched

A multi-million rand move could be on the cards for Thulani Serero this month, and the ‘negotiation process’ saw him left on the bench on Friday night…
Serero, who has been linked with a R17m move to Al Jazira in the United Arab Emirates, has been almost ever-present for Vitesse Arnhem since making the switch from Ajax Amsterdam, but Leonid Slutsky opted to leave him out for the clash with PEC Zwolle.
An injury to Matus Bero meant that ‘Cream’ ended up coming on before the first half was over anyway, but he has admitted that his transfer situation is playing on his mind as the end of the window draws ever closer.
According to voetbalprimeur.nl, the Bafana Bafana man said, "The transfer is going through my head… It was a good decision to start on the bench. The team needed me and you have to be there, but I hope that there will be clarity about my future soon."
Meanwhile, his head coach also spoke briefly on the matter, saying, "He's in a negotiation process and that's why we decided to let him start on the bench."
Next up for Vitesse is an away game at Heracles in the Eredivisie, and it remains to be seen whether the midfielder will still be at the club by the time that encounter rolls around.
