Chippa United’s trialist, Chuma Lali, could have left for an overseas trial before being invited by the Port Elizabeth club.
The midfielder from Cape Town is currently on trial at Chippa, as reported by the Siya crew. As confirmed by sources in the know, the 21-year-old had an opportunity for a trial at an unnamed club in Belgium.
However, an injury put paid to his chances of realizing his dreams of furthering his career overseas.
The former Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits development player has been given a chance to impress under Teboho Moloi at Chippa.
The Chilli Boys are expected to make a decision on the player in the upcoming few days. For now, Moloi and his technical team are preparing the side for next Wednesday’s Absa Premiership game against Kaizer Chiefs at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
