AFC Bournemouth head coach, Eddie Howe, says that his side miss Bafana Bafana striker, Tokelo Rantie, both on and off the field in England.
Rantie’s club currently find themselves on top of the English Championship and on track to secure promotion to the Premier League, however could face another five games without ‘TK’ available as he does battle for Bafana in the African Cup of Nations.
The forward has two goals for the Cherries this season and is expected to play a vital role for Shakes Mashaba’s side in Equatorial Guinea following his four goals in qualifying.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Howe said, “We have missed TK, that`s not just because of his ability but also for his infectious character around the place. We love working with him. We wish him well and hope he comes back fit and firing for what will be an important run in for us.
"I have no doubt he will have a good tournament because he is a good player. We always knew this was on the horizon and that we were going to lose him, which doesn`t make it any easier from our perspective, but thankfully we are winning games without him."
Bafana vs Algeria will be televised on SS 4 and SABC 1, with the match starting at 21h00 local time.
