Bafana Bafana striker, Dino Ndlovu, has bemoaned the decisions taken by referees against Qarabag in the UEFA Champions League.
The Azerbaijani champions have now had three red cards in their last three UCL games as they continue their search for a first group stage victory, while the referee also handed last night’s opponents – Chelsea, two penalties as they romped to a 4-0 win.
Ndlovu, who played 90 minutes against the English champions twice, was on the receiving end of the referee’s red as he was sent off against Atletico Madrid for an apparent dive, consequently missing the trip to Spain last month.
Now, with Qarabag officially knocked out of Europe for 2017/18, the Bafana international has bemoaned the officials, insinuating that the referee ruined their chances of getting a result against Antonio Conte’s side.
He told the club’s official Facebook page after the game, "It was a good game in the first 20 minutes, but the referee solved the problem for us. I cannot blame anyone though, it's futile, anything can happen.
“What can we do? It’s a food experience for the team, make no mistake. I'm not a UEFA official, I do not want to talk about refereeing. It's not my problem, but they did what they did… We get red cards in the Champions League games, and I do not understand the reason, maybe because we're a small club, so I'm sorry.”
Qarabag are currently top of the Azerbaijani Premier League back home and will be taking aim at qualifying for next year’s UCL tournament.
