Bafana Striker To Become One Of SA’s Highest Earners?
Dino Ndlovu Could Be Tempted To China With Hangzhou Greentown
Bafana Bafana striker, Dino Ndlovu, could potentially become one of South Africa’s highest-earning players if a move to China materialises in the upcoming transfer window.
The Siya crew reported recently that Chinese outfit, Hangzhou Greentown, had shown a real interest in trying to land the 27-year-old from Qarabag in Azerbaijan, with a multimillion-rand bid having been tabled already.
Ndlovu has scored 24 goals for Qarabag since his arrival last year, and his exploits both domestically and in the UEFA Champions League – he was South Africa’s only representative – have seen him attract interest from numerous countries around the world.
Siya sources suggest that Greentown are prepared to pay around €750,000 (around R12m) in return for Ndlovu’s signature as they chase promotion, and given the amount of money in the Chinese game these days, and the lack of South Africans playing at the highest level, Ndlovu could become one of Mzansi’s highest paid players should a deal be struck.
Qarabag were aiming for a fee of €1 million (±R16m) for Ndlovu originally, although their bargaining power was reduced by the fact that – as things stand, he will be available as a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Some of the highest paid players in the world are currently plying their trade in China, and Ndlovu will no doubt demand a big deal if he’s to make the switch to Asia.
