SA’s Champions League Representation Ends
South Africa’s representation in this year’s UEFA Champions League came to an end as Dino Ndlovu’s Qarabag played their last game in the tournament.

The 27-year-old played just under 1000 minutes in the competition including the group stages, scoring four goals along the way, but was unable to help the team reach the knockout stages as they were beaten in four group matches.
Though he didn’t manage to score against Chelsea, Atletico Madrid or Roma, the Bafana Bafana international did cause a problem for their back-lines as he played in five of the six games, coming up against some big stars along the way.
Ndlovu averaged more shots per game (1.8) than any other player in his team as they enjoyed their first ever run in the group stages of the UCL, and only two players in the side made more successful dribbles than him (8). He was also one of only two Qarabag players to get an assist.
Now, with Qarabag turning their focus to their league campaign, Ndlovu’s future remains in doubt as clubs around the world show an interest in bringing the burly forward on board in the January transfer window.
Ndlovu has scored 42 goals in all competitions over the last two and a half seasons.
