It was not the best of New Year’s Days for South Africans abroad as both Kgosietsile Ntlhe’s Peterborough United and Dean Furman’s Doncaster Rovers lost while Tokelo Rantie’s AFC Bournemouth were held to a draw.
Rantie was an unused substitute as Bournemouth drew 1-1 with Brighton and Hove Albion. The result sees Bournemouth drop to 16th place in the Championship table.
Rantie’s side will next be in action on Saturday in a FA Cup tie against Burton Albion.
Furman played the full 90 minutes in his side’s 2-1 loss to Queens Park Rangers. The loss sees Doncaster drop into the relegation zone in the English Championship.
Furman’s side will next be in action in a FA Cup tie against Stevenage on Saturday.
Ntlhe was also on the losing side in the English League One when Peterborough lost 3-1 to league leaders Brentford at home.
Ntlhe played the full 90 minutes, but was unable to help his side prevent the loss as they dropped to fifth place on the league table.
Ntlhe and Peterborough will next be in action on Saturday in an FA Cup tie against Kidderminster Harriers FC.
