Phiri’s Contract Talks Ongoing
Danish giants, Brondby IF, are working overtime to try and tie down their South African star, Lebogang Phiri, before his contract expires in the next few months.
Phiri, 21, has played an integral role for Brondby this season as they got off to their best start to a league campaign in a decade, helping them to the top of the Danish Superliga with an eight-game unbeaten streak.
The South African U23 star – who has been with the club since 2012 – will see his current deal expire at the end of the season, and despite the club’s efforts so far, he is yet to put pen to paper.
Phiri has been a mainstay in the Brondby side over the past two campaigns, and grabbed the assist for the winning goal this weekend as his fine form continued.
It is thought that the player isn’t looking to leave his club at this stage, but with several other clubs interested in landing him, he will not be short of options come January when he is able to sign a pre-contract elsewhere.
