In yet another twist in the Percy Tau saga, Brighton and Hove Albion have registered the attacker as part of their Premier League squad for the 2021/22 season.
Tau looked set for an exit from the Seagulls, who have been bolstering their attack in recent weeks – an indication that they envision a future without Tau.
His former coach Pitso Mosimane has made it no secret that he would love to reunite with the Witbank-born star who he worked with for five years at Mamelodi Sundowns.
As reported by the Siya crew, Brighton and Al Ahly have agreed a transfer fee for the 27-year-old, who missed Graham Potter’s side’s final pre-season encounter against Getafe, fueling speculation that Tau was set for an exit from the Amex.
Potter cited ‘personal reasons’ for Tau’s absence.
However, in a twist of events, Tau appeared to have been included in Brighton’s 25-man squad for the Premier League season, which kicks off on Friday 13 August.
Tau was amongst the Brighton players that took part in the official Premier League photoshoot at the club’s training base on Wednesday, casting doubts on whether or not he would actually be leaving the club after all.
