As reported earlier this week that Percy Tau was close to securing his next move in Europe following his departure from Club Brugge, the forward’s new chapter has been confirmed.
The South African will join Belgian outfit Anderlecht on a season-long loan from his parent club Brighton & Hove Albion as he is still unable to get a work permit to pursue a career in the English Premier League.

Tau, 26, had an impressive previous campaign in the same Belgium top-flight league at Brugge, but the club did not extend his loan spell for another year.
This will be the Bafana Bafana international’s third successive stint at another club – away from Brighton, who signed him for a whopping R50-million from Mamelodi Sundowns almost exactly two years ago.
Speaking on the club’s website following the announcement, Tau, who arrived in Brussels on Monday to put pen to paper, said: “I am part of a team that always wants to play good and attacking football. That suits me perfectly. RSCA has my style of football. We are made for each other. I will do everything I can to contribute to this team and guide the club back to where it belongs: to the top of Belgian football.”
He won the title with Brugge last season and had featured in major fixtures against Real Madrid, PSG and Manchester United in the Uefa Champions League and Europa League respectively – but will miss out on that big stage next season.
Anderlecht finished in eighth place, missing out on European competitions.
