Bongani Zungu’s club President Bernard Joannin has all but ended talk of the midfielder’s exit from Ligue 2 side Amiens SC.
Joannin addressed the media following the appointment of Philippe Hinschberger, who replaces Oswald Tanchot at the helm of Amiens and in addition, gave an update on the summer transfer window of his club.
Not only did the French millionaire businessman hint at new recruits as Amiens go in search of promotion to Ligue 1 next season, but he also provided an update on the future of the Bafana Bafana midfielder.
It is an open secret that Zungu would be returning to the French outfit upon the expiry of his loan spell with Glasgow Rangers in Scotland, although reports in local media linked the 28-year-old with an exit from Amiens amid interest from the PSL and Germany.
However, Joannin revealed that Zungu, who still has a year left to run on his Amiens contract, would complete the Amiens puzzle for coach Hinschberger ahead of the new season.
“Bongani Zungu, who returns from loan from Glasgow, will be an excellent recruit,” Joannin told the media regarding the former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder.
Zungu, who is currently recuperating back in Mzansi is expected to join up with his Amiens teammates when they begin their pre-season training next month.
