Glasgow Rangers newest signing, Bongani Zungu could make his debut for the Light Blues and become the only South African to feature in the UEFA Europa league this season.

According to reports coming out of Scotland, the midfielder will finally link up with Steven Gerrard’s squad at Ibrox after spending more than 10 days in quarantine.
During that time, Zungu was handed training equipment for his hotel room, as he missed three of Rangers’ games including the Old Firm against Celtic which they won 2-0.
Speaking to the media this week, Gerrard’s second in command, Gary McAllister, shared his delight at having Zungu training with the rest of the squad ahead of their Europa League encounter against Lech Poznan this Thursday.
“Zungu is still in quarantine but I think he becomes available to train with us just prior to Poznan. So that’s very encouraging. It adds to our strength in the middle of the park,” he told the media.

Meanwhile the 28-year-old has also been called up to Molefi Ntseki’s 25-man Bafana Bafana squad after a short hiatus from the national team. Zungu will be jetting to South Africa to face Sao Tome in a double-header on November 13 and 16 in a Group C AFCON qualifier.
