Bongani Zungu’s future could well be away from Amiens and out of France altogether, with the Siya crew being informed that he’s attracting interest from Spain’s LaLiga.
The Bafana Bafana star has endured a difficult 2019 as he battled with injury problems over the course of the year, playing just 15 games in all competitions for his club in France after working hard to get himself back fit again.
Things were looking up for the 27-year-old after an impressive showing at the Africa Cup of Nations where he got two goals for South Africa in Egypt, but he was dealt another blow early in the 2019/20 season with a setback that has seen him sidelined for much of the campaign.
Now though, with the midfielder forcing his way back into the squad after getting himself fully fit once more, the former Mamelodi Sundowns man will be eager to end the year on a high against the likes of Dijon, Rennes and Paris Saint-Germain if given the chance.
According to Siya sources, his French club may have a fight on their hands to keep hold of the midfielder in January though, with Espanyol in Spain looking to revisit their prior interest in him, while other clubs in Ligue 1 are also said to be interested.
Zungu has just over 18 months left on his contract with Amiens and is not thought to be keen on penning a new deal as he eyes the next step in his career, something that may lead to his club opting to try and sell him for a profit in the upcoming January transfer window if an offer is placed.
