Bafana Bafana star Bongani Zungu has broken his silence after his was removed from the Rangers squad for breaking Covid-19 protocols.
The Bafana midfielder has not featured for the Scottish Premiership leaders recently after he and four other players broke protocol to attend a party earlier this month.
Zungu has come in for a lot of criticism over the past week from former Rangers players, but he has now apologised for his actions.
“I’d like to apologise to the Rangers fans. It’s been a great season so far for the club and my message is I’d like to apologise and hope the fans can continue to support us and we can put this behind us and focus on the future," he told Rangers TV.
The 28-year-old is only on loan at Rangers from Amiens, but manager Steven Gerrard has hinted that a permanent deal might not be on the cards.
Since joining the Scottish giants in January, Zungu has notched up 15 appearances although only three of those have come from the start.
