Former Orlando Pirates striker Benni McCarthy has named two Kaizer Chiefs stars among his toughest opponents.
The 38-year-old is South Africa’s only player to have won the Champions League and had his most successful spell under Jose Mourinho at FC Porto.
After stints with Blackburn Rovers, where he finished behind Didier Drogba in the goalscoring charts in his best season, as well as with West Ham United, McCarthy finished his career with Orlando Pirates.
He lifted another four trophies with the Buccaneers before retiring in 2013 and now named the three toughest opposition players he has faced during his stint in South Africa.
The striker, who faced Pirates’ eternal rivals in the Soweto derby, named two Chiefs stars as well as one SuperSport United defender.
In addition, he also revealed his three toughest opponents from outside South Africa, including two Manchester United stars.
