Bafana Target Leaves Juve On Loan
Bafana Target, Joel Untersee, Has Joined Empoli On Loan
Bafana Bafana target, Joel Untersee, has completed a loan move from Juventus to Empoli in Serie B.
The 23-year-old defender, who was born in South Africa but has represented Switzerland at youth level, spent last season out on loan with Brescia as he went on to make 39 league appearances for them as they finished 15th.
This time around he will be hoping to finish higher up the table with Empoli after they were relegated from the top flight in 2016/17, with the club targeting automatic promotion back into Serie A.
Untersee has joined the club on a one-year loan (image courtesy of Gianluca Di Marzio) with Empoli having an obligation to buy purchase him from Juve if they do indeed gain promotion at the end of the campaign.
Stuart Baxter recently said that he has made some progress with regards to the Johannesburg-born defender turning out for Bafana, however, at this stage, it remains to be seen as to whether he will do so.
