Belgian Giants To Make Tau Move?
Bafana's Percy Tau Is Already Making A Name For Himself In Belgium
Percy Tau may have only been in Belgium for a short while, but his performance against one of the country’s big boys has certainly caught the eye…
Tau is currently trying to make a name for himself in Europe with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the Belgian second tier, with the Bafana Bafana international having already picked up a handful of assists in the Proximus League and Belgian Cup.
One of those assists, a quite impressive one, came as he helped his side demolish Anderlecht in the Croky Cup, and – as reported in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma – it has led to the giants earmarking him as a potential signing.
Siya sources have suggested that Anderlecht were so impressed with Tau and his teammate, hat-trick hero Youssoufou Niakaté, during their 3-0 defeat, that they could be considering a move for the South African attacker at some point in the future.
Tau will spend the season on loan with RUSG after he was sent there by the parent club, Brighton & Hove Albion, however, there appears to be a high chance of him taking a step up to a bigger club for the 2019/20 season.
The 24-year-old will battle to get himself a work permit in England due to the strict permit rules, though there is nothing to stop him from showcasing his talent elsewhere in Europe at this stage.
