Bafana Bafana international, Percy Tau, is up for an award in Belgium after a stellar opening campaign following his move to Europe.
The 24-year-old has been excelling for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in 2018/19 following his loan move from Brighton & Hove Albion, with the former Mamelodi Sundowns man looking to boost his reputation in Europe following a couple of excellent seasons in the Absa Premiership.
Now, though he was unable to help RUSG land promotion to the Belgian Pro League up from the Proximus League, the attacker could be rewarded for his individual efforts as he picked up six goals and 10 assists in the two rounds of their league campaign throughout the course of the season.
Tau will be up against his teammate, Faiz Selemani, who got 16 goals and nine assists this season, and KV Mechelen's Nikola Storm after he got six goals and eight assists as he helped inspire his team to promotion into the top-flight.
It remains to be seen whene the winners of the award will be announced, but Tau will be crossing fingers that his work can be rewarded in the build up to this year's African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
