Bafana Striker Lands Another Award
Bafana's Dino Ndlovu Has Won Yet Another Award
Dino Ndlovu will be needing more space on his shelves at home if he keeps up his current rate of success, with the Bafana Bafana international picking up another award this week.
The 27-year-old recently was given an award by Qarabag’s fan club for his ‘Historic Goal’ against FC Copenhagen earlier this year, the goal that took them to their – and Azerbaijan’s – first ever UEFA Champions League group stage.
Now, with rumours circulating regarding a big-money move to China, the striker was chosen as Azerbaijan’s ‘Foreign Player of the Year’ by İdman Araşdırmalar Mərkəzinin (the Sports Research Centre) after a survey that involved 60 media outlets.
Ndlovu has scored 24 goals in his season and a half with the Azerbaijani giants, helping them to a league and cup double in their last campaign, although may not be around next year as Chinese outfit, Hangzhou Greentown, recently submitted a bid worth around €750,000 (around R12m).
China’s transfer window opens up on January 1st, and Greentown will no doubt be looking to try and get Ndlovu’s deal wrapped up as soon as possible if it is going to happen.
Qarabag play on Friday night in their final game of 2017, and then have just under two months until their next match.
