Bafana's Andile Jali Is In A Fitness Race For The Europa League
Bafana Bafana international, Andile Jali, is in a race against time to be fit for KV Oostende’s crunch UEFA Europa League clash with Marseille on Thursday night.
The 27-year-old was forced to sit out Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Royal Excel Mouscron due to injury as his club’s league campaign got underway, however, will be eager to make sure that he recovers in time for the second leg of their UEL tie.
Jali picked up an ankle injury as he played 90 minutes in the first leg at the Stade Velodrome in France as he made his continental debut in Europe, but was unable to help his side as they were beaten 4-2 on the night by Dimitri Payet and Co.
Now, with the former Orlando Pirates man focusing on his recovery, his club will also be eager to make sure that he is fully fit following a number of solid performances since returning to Yves Vanderhaeghe starting XI towards the end of last season.
Meanwhile, May Mahlangu’s Dinamo Bucharest are also in action on Thursday night as they face Atletico Bilbao in the second leg of their UEL clash after a 1-1 draw in the home fixture last week.
The likes of Bongani Zungu and Thulani Serero are already in the group stages of the tournament with Vitoria de Guimaraes and Vitesse.
