Bafana Bafana defender, Anele Ngcongca, has been dealt a huge blow with news that he will not be able to recover in time to play for Troyes again this season.
Ngcongca, who is on a season-long loan deal at Troyes in the French Ligue 1 from Belgian Pro League side Genk, returned to the French club from Bafana camp last month carrying an injury.
The 28-year-old started the first leg game of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Cameroon at Stade de Limbe, but was later substituted after picking a calf injury.
He missed the second leg game. On his return to France, the Cape Town-born player watched as Troyes got relegated from French Ligue 1, following their 22nd loss of the season.
Ngcongca confirmed to the Siya crew that he will not play in any of the remaining five games for the French outfit this season. The experienced player has also revealed that he is unsure about his future as he still has a contract with Genk.
“I still have a contract with Genk. I can’t plan about what will happen because I have a contract with Genk. I will go back to Genk and hear from them about the future,” said Ngcongca.
