Jali Move Off, Staying Put In Belgium
Despite the player reportedly wanting out, and apparent interest from England, Andile Jali will be staying with KV Oostende for the time being.
Jali, who is yet to feature for his side this season after picking up an injury in preseason, was linked with English Championship side, Leeds United, however the strict work permit rules in the UK meant a deal was always going to be unlikely.
The Siya crew has previously reported that the 26-year-old had spoken to members of Mamelodi Sundowns’ technical team during the offseason amid talk that he is unhappy at his club, and that Oostende were willing to sell him if a reasonable offer was submitted.
It is thought that Oostende were wanting upwards of €1.5 million (R24m) in order to sell the combative midfielder, however, it seems that – at this stage – nobody is willing to meet that.
While now fully fit, Jali - who is part of the current Bafana Bafana side - didn’t even make Oostende’s bench in their last league game, and it remains to be seen whether it will be a difficult season for the former Orlando Pirates man in 2016/17.
According to Siya sources, Jali is now set to stay at Oostende at least until the January transfer window, unless – of course – a shock late move happens before the current window closes tomorrow night.
