Jali Left Out Again… Four Months Gone
Things aren’t looking good for Andile Jali at KV Oostende, with the South African once again being left out of their squad for this week’s cup clash with Antwerp.
Despite playing in Bafana Bafana’s games against Mauritania and Egypt in September, the 26-year-old former Orlando Pirates man was omitted from the two matchday squads that followed, with injury being cited for his absence.
However, this time around, no reason has been given for the former Buccaneers’ absence and he seems to have fallen down the pecking order since last season, not playing for the club since May.
Jali played 36 games for Oostende in their last campaign and seemed to be finding his feet in Europe, although reports soon came out that the club were looking to sell him if possible, but the transfer window closed without a move materialising.
It remains to be seen when Jali will be fit again, if injury is the reason for his continued omission, though given the club’s fine form – they’re currently third – he has a battle on his hands to get back into the starting XI.
