Word reaching the Siya crew is that Egyptian giants Al Ahly and Brighton and Hove Albion have opened talks over the possible transfer of Percy Tau.
A reported by the Siya crew on Tuesday, Al Ahly coach, Pitso Mosimane, who was largely responsible for Tau’s rise to prominence during their time at Mamelodi Sundowns, made a huge admission about possibly luring the 27-year-old to Cairo.
Now, the latest news reaching the crew is that the two clubs have opened formal talks!
According to Siya sources, Brighton are open to offers for Tau, who spent the second half of the season with the Seagulls, making six appearances in all competitions.
Furthermore, the crew has been informed that talks between the two clubs has escalated rapidly with indications that an agreement could be reached in the coming days that would see Tau switch the Amex for the Cairo international Stadium.
If a deal is reached, Tau could become the second player who also featured for Downs under Mosimane, to reunite with the CAF Champions League-winning coach. As previously reported by the Siya crew, midfielder Luís Miquissone is understood to have agreed a deal in principle to join the Red Eagles from Simba.
Tau shone brightly for coach Graham Potter’s side in their 3-1 win over Luton Town on Saturday, scoring an amazing solo goal, but with game-time not guaranteed at the Seagulls, the possibility of Tau leaving the club is high.
The crew will keep you up to date with the latest regarding this developing story…
