Pitso Mosimane's winning start at Al Ahly continued after the Egyptian Premier League leaders thumped ENPPI 3-0 on Wednesday evening.
Mosimane was forced to make six changes mainly due to injuries, with second-choice goalkeeper Ali Lofti, Arabi Badr, Aliou Dieng, Walid Soliman, Junior Ajayi and Marwan Mohsen all coming to the fore.
Mohsen gave the Red Devils an ideal start after opening the scoring in the third minute with a strike from close range after latching onto Ayman Ashraf's through ball.
Mohsen doubled Al Ahly's lead in the 17th minute with a neat finish into the bottom corner after he was teed up by Ahmed Fathy.
Mohamed Rizk came close to pulling a goal back for ENPPI just before the break but Lofti was on hand to make the save as Al Ahly held their two-goal advantage at the break.
While Al Ahly were absorbing the pressure in the early stages of the second stanza, the hosts came close to reducing the deficit in the last 20 minutes through Omar Fathi's effort but Lofti did well to keep the striker at bay.
Oluwafemi Ajayi put the game to bed for Mosimane's charges in the last ten minutes after finding the bottom corner after swift counter-attack to send Al Ahly 21 points at the top of the log.
