Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has spoken on his ambitions to win the FIFA Club World Cup, a competition he qualified for after leading his side to the CAF Champions League title.

It will be Mosimane’s second adventure into one of the biggest club competitions in the world, following his foray into the tournament in the 2016 edition with Mamelodi Sundowns.
The competition unfortunately didn’t go according to script for ‘Jingles’ and the Brazilians, as they lost to both Kashima Antlers and Jeonbuk Motors respectively, with Percy Tau the only shining light in their unflattering tournament.
Now, Mosimane has set his sights on going one further by lifting the cup, although he does face some formidable competition with the likes of UEFA Champions League winners Bayern Munich vying for the same prize.
“Every person has dreams and ambitions, which he wishes to achieve in his working career,” Mosimane told Al Ahly’s official website.
“Moreover, each manager and each team wishes to win the FIFA Club World Cup. However, realistically speaking it’s difficult to speak in that manner. All I can say is that we will be looking forward to representing African football in the best possible way in the tournament.
“I promise our fans that we will fight to win the Egyptian and African Super Cups,” Mosimane added.
