Ahead of their mammoth CAF Confederation Cup clash against Raja Casablanca, Orlando Pirates' Wayne Sandilands has called for consistency from his side.
The Buccaneers would have hoped for a morale boosting victory against struggling Stellenbosch FC in the DStv Premiership on Tuesday; however, it wasn’t to be as the two sides played to a goalless stalemate.
This result saw the Soweto giants continue their disappointing run in the Cape.
Now, as they turn their attention to their fancied Moroccan counterparts, Sandilands has reflected on their dropped points against Stellies, while calling for consistency when they take on Raja at the Orlando Stadium this Sunday.
“I think we wanted the three points, obviously as a big team we wanted the three points but unfortunately the game turned out a little bit different. But ja, look we will take a point, we have to just get back to Joburg now we got a big game on the weekend so we just gotta make sure that we perform at our best, that we rest well and put in a good performance on the weekend,” Sandilands told Pirates’ media department.
“I think we just have to be a little bit more consistent, we just have to make sure that we stock together, we pull together, we work hard and we go out swinging with these last few games, that’s all we can do is take each game as it comes and hopefully we get positive results,” the goalkeeper said.
Pirates will be hoping for a positive result at home on Sunday before they travel to Casablanca seven days later.
