There has been an update in former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa’s murder case after suspects appeared in court again on Friday morning.
In October last year, five suspects were arrested in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal respectively for their alleged involvement in Meyiwa’s fatal shooting which took place in October 2014 in Vosloorus on the East Rand.
The five suspects are facing charges of murder, attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, among other charges.
Following their latest appearance at the Boksburg magistrate’s court this morning, after their last court appearance in November last year, the matter has been postponed to October 25 and moved to the High Court in Palm Ridge on Gauteng’s East Rand.
All five suspects were in court and there have been no further arrests made about the case since last year.
During last year’s appearance, the suspects refused to get into the accused box in court and insisted that they did not kill the former Bafana Bafana goalie.
