Man-of-the-match Thembinkosi Lorch says it was vital that Orlando Pirates managed to score three goals ahead of the second leg.
Lorch opened his scoring acccount for the season in the 3-0 thrashing of Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday afternoon, with Pirates taking a big lead into next weekend's second leg in the MTN8 semi-finals.
"First of all, I would like to thank the almighty god for the talen that he gave me and I would like to thank my family, especially my dad and my mom for supporting me through difficulties," the 27-year-old told SuperSport TV.
"In the first 15 minutes they were coming to us. But after 20 minutes we manged to play according to the structure of the coach and we managed to get the goal.
"Ja, we have been practising our structure in training and it helped us today.
When asked if he would have predicted a 3-0 scoreline in his side's favour before the match, 'Nyosi' responded: "Ja, we had to believe we could score this many goals because there's still going to be a second leg against them so it's going to help us going forward."
