In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, Orlando Pirates’ Thabiso Monyane opened up about how he felt about his head coach calling him ‘the best right-back in the country’.
The 19-year-old was promoted through to the Pirates first team in July this year, where he has since went on to make six appearances for the club so far this season.
“Honestly, I am humbled by the coach’s words and they keep pushing me to do my best all the time. They’re not only doing that for me or the technical team, but for the benefit of the team. Sometimes you have to sacrifice yourself for the team,” Monyane told Soccer Laduma.
“I’m really honoured and humbled by the reaction I have been getting since my debut at the beginning of the season. However, I don’t read too much into what people are saying about me because I don’t want to allow critics to get to me. I just focus on the positives and try to work on the negatives all the time,” he added.
