Defender, Goalkeeper And Midfielders – 6 Players Linked With Moves To Pirates

The July/August transfer window is just over three months away and Soccer Laduma takes a look at six players who are already being linked with moves to Orlando Pirates.

Craig Martin:

Martin has been on the radar of both Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns in the past, with Siya sources revealing a few months ago that Cape Town City had received enquiries about the player’s availability. However, indications are that the Citizens are not keen on letting the player go, although it remains to be seen whether the Bucs will look to approach the club for the player in the next few months.

Thamsanqa Mkhize:

Mkhize has been in fine form for City while wearing the captain’s armband and according to Siya sources, the player caught the attention of Pirates in previous months. Although, it remains to be seen whether the Bucs could revisit their interest in the player.

Richard Ofori:

The Maritzburg United goalkeeper is believed to be on the radar of the Bucs as well, with indications that the Soweto giants still want to strengthen their goalkeeping department despite having four keepers on their books as things stand.

Willard Katsande:

Katsande’s future with Kaizer Chiefs is believed to be uncertain at this point, however, Siya sources have revealed that the Bucs were keeping a close eye on the Zimbabwean international’s situation with their Soweto rivals.

Fortune Makaringe:

Makaringe is currently heavily linked with an exit from Maritzburg, with the Bucs believed to be favourites to land the midfielder’s signature.

Brian Onyango:

Onyango is another Maritzburg player being linked with Pirates, with Siya sources indicating that Pirates have rekindled their interest in the centre-back.
