With Orlando Pirates linked with arguably the top two defenders in Mzansi at the moment in Thulani Hlatshwayo and Siyanda Xulu, a former Buccaneer is skeptical about the chances of the duo at the Soweto giants.
In recent weeks, Hlatshwayo has been strongly linked with Bucs after the news that the topflight status of Bidvest Wits has been sold to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila was confirmed, while the Soweto giants are believed to have reignited interest in Xulu after Maritzburg United confirmed his exit from the club.
Speaking about the possible changes at the Buccaneers, former goalkeeper Innocent Mayoyo is worried of how the experienced duo would fit in at the star-studded club.
“Going to Orlando Pirates as the big stars that they have been at their previous clubs could change them to be average. There at Pirates they will be competing with other stars, who might even be better than them. But Pirates can benefit from them (Hlatshwayo and Xulu) as they are both talented and experienced players,” said Mayoyo.
