Portuguese outfit CS Maritimo have inquired about a possible deal for one of Orlando Pirates’ strikers, the Siya crew has been informed.
Justin Shonga is apparently a wanted man by the Primeira Liga club, though his agent says they would have to approach the Buccaneers directly because the Zambian forward still has an existing contract with the Soweto giants.

Karabo Mathang clarified to the Siya crew this week that Shonga will remain on Pirates’ books beyond June 30 following claims by Michael Ngobeni, his now previous agent, that he was in the final days of his contract.

Mathang, of P Management, says she is the lawful representative, and subsequently confirmed that CS Maritimo have asked about Shonga’s availability.
“There has been an enquiry for Shonga from Maritimo in Portugal, however the decision rests with Orlando Pirates, where he currently has a contract. The onus is on the interested party to approach his club and then we can take it from there,” Mathang explained.
